Observation of my class presentation

Presentation

My oral presentation with Elisenda was about the importants moments between Elizabeth, the main character of the novel, and Mr. Darce during the romantic novel.
We prepared a power point to guide the presentation and to show the most important things; we searched the pictures of the film which we though that they show very well the characters’ feelings to each other in their important meetings; also, we put marks and sentences that the characters say in the book or in the film.

Body language and eye contact

When I did my oral presentation I was nervous and because of that, apart to contact with the audience, I watched sometimes to the screen and sometimes to the notes unconsciously, although I didn’t read; moreover, I talk slowly and I don’t know why because I knew what I had to said so…, I think that in each oral presentation I talk slow..; and I also moved a little bit my hands but to have something taken between my hands make me confidence and because of it I had the paper or another thing and I couldn’t do more gestures.

Structure

I think that our oral presentation was good structured because, firstly we did an introduction about the characters that we had to talk during the presentation, and then we told to the audiences all the important meetings between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy in order of the story and they also went in order of the characters’ feelings increase.
To structure and organize the ideas of the presentation in order we used some discourse markers, for example: first, the second, the last, moreover, although...

Content

I think that we introduced not something new because we have read the story and we have watched her film, but maybe some little things about the feelings between the characters that some audience, maybe, when they were reading the book they didn’t pay attention. I say that because when we prepared our oral presentation I learned new thing about the story of the characters that I hadn’t understood before; because of that, I think that maybe some people with this presentation learned new things.

Language

The most vocabulary that we used in our oral presentation we already knew them, but also we had to check some words to the grammar book and also in Internet; words like unconsciously.
We searched synonyms and we used pronouns like: who, which, when, where, about them, her... to don’t repeat always the same words.

Pronunciation & Intonation

My pronunciation isn’t perfect but I try to say the words correctly, although my Catalan accent influences my English. When I don’t know how is the pronunciation of one word, first of all I ask to my friends but when anybody can help me I check it in the Internet.
I spoke slow and with a few times I Changes my tone of voice.

Self-Evaluation
This fisrt oral presentation of this term, I think it has been good and her mark I don’t know which would be, but I’d like to have an eight, more or less.

Transcription

Well, in each one, in each meeting, we can see a change in the character's behaviour, how decrease their pride and how take more importance their love and their feelings.
Well, Elizabeth is the main character of this novel, she belongs in the Bennet's family which is not very well considerated because her behaviour and her education. Well, Elizabeth is an itelligent and young girl who serchs the love and happiness without arranged engages.
She has prejudices, she has prejudice of Mr. Darcy and she cannot see the realy personality of him with who falls in love.

The second important meeting is in Netherfield Park in BIngley's house. Elizabeth goes there to take care of her sister because she's ill. and i's the time when Mr. Darcy starts to considere Elizabeth unconsciously. Moreover, when Bennet's family leave at home, Mr. Darcy helps Elizabeth to get into the carriage and he touches her hand. Here you can see that bouth become desconcerted.

In the third meeting also take place in Bingley's house but in a ball. It's amusing because Mr. Darcy invites Lizzy to dance and she accepts although she had decided to hate him.
Em...While they are dancing they talk, they can talk and Elizabeth tried to know more about Wickham and with her question she annoyed Mr. Darcy.
Here, they are still proud to each other.

Well, the fifth meeting occurs in Pemberly, in.. Darcy's house, and here Elizabeth, emm.., already knows the truth on Mr. Darcy after to read Darc's letter . Here, they talk to each other nerviously but without pride, pride and without prejudices.

And the sixth meeting and the last, it's the most important because we can see their mutual feelings, and Mr. Darcy repits again his feelings to Elizabeth, she accepts them, and finally they become engaged!! :)

Here you can see how Mr. Darcy is repeating his feelings and how he has the hope that Elizabeth has changed her feelings towards him.
