Presentation:
My 2nd oral presentation with Elisenda of this course has been about some important places or monuments around the river of London, Thames. It has been funny because we have could film our oral presentations as a reportage, because we have talked about things of London in front of their real place.
Moreover, we have done this oral presentation as a TV programme about trips of some places of the world and in this case it’s about London: Elisenda and me are the presenters of this program and it represents that we communicate with two reporters (who are us, too) that are in London and they tell us something on monuments and symbols of the English city.
We have prepared the oral with the moviemaker to make like a film. After each part that we talk about the places of London we have introduced some pictures of them to show some of their others perspectives.
Body language and eye contact:
Preparing and filming this oral presentation it has been different, funny and interesting, but we had a problem: when we filmed our oral presentation in London we didn’t calculate how long it took, so we have had to longer it telling something more about the trip in London.
Structure:
I think that our oral presentation is good structured because, firstly we did an introduction about what we talked about during the presentation in London and where we filmed it, and then we tried to tell the essential information about the some most famous symbols and monuments around the river of London; moreover, they are told in order that you can find them if you walk around the river from the Tower bridge until Big Ben. Between the London’s explanation we have also introduced reviews of two presenters because the oral seems to be like a documentary.
Content:
I think that we introduced something new about the entire things that we talked about, because not everybody knew about them or didn’t know all the things that we have told. Moreover, I think that we have could show or make an idea about this monuments of London to the people who haven’t been in this big city of England. And well, I hope that everybody have learned something new about London with our oral presentation.
Language:
The most vocabulary that we used in our oral presentation we already knew them, but also we had to check some words to the grammar book and also in Internet; words like drawbridge, pedestrian, nickname…We searched synonyms and we used pronouns like: about them, which, where, when, who...
Pronunciation & Intonation:
My pronunciation isn’t perfect but I try to say the words correctly, I also have to improve my intonation. The worst problem that we have got in this oral presentation it has been that in London with the noises of the cars, buses, the people… the sound of my voice it’s a little quiet and it doesn’t heard and understand very well. I know that I spoke slow but I don’t know why… , a few times I change my tone of voice; I think that I have to try and to learn to express me better.
Self-Evaluation:
Well, this oral presentation, although the problems that we have had, I think it’s good, original because it has been recorded in live, in the same side or in front of the monument of London that we had talking about. And about her mark…well, it’s difficult to say the mark ourselves, I don’t know which would be, but in general I think that it could be (more or less) an eight a half.
